ANTI-BULLYING POLICY

 

Introduction

Our anti-bullying policy sets out what we’ll do to tackle it and how we’ll support all members who experience or display bullying behaviour.  Our Group will not tolerate or condone bullying in any form.

Definition of Bullying

Bullying is defined as the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Bullying can be physical, verbal, or physiological. It can happen face-to-face or through cyberspace. This can include taunts, graffiti, attacks on property and people.

 

 

Bullying can include, but is not restricted to, the following behaviours

 

  • physically pushing, kicking, hitting, pinching

  • aggressive behaviour and threats of violence

  • name calling, spreading rumours, persistent teasing and humiliation

  • deliberate and continual ignoring or exclusion of others

  • posting derogatory or abusive comments, videos or images on social media

  • being subject to bad language or unhealthy conversations

  • religious, racial, homophobic, transphobic or sexist comments, taunts or gestures

  • sexual comments, suggestions or behaviour

  • unwanted physical contact

 

 Our Group and Its Members Will Ensure the Following

 

  • all forms of bullying will be acted upon

  • recognise duty of care and responsibility to safeguard all players

  • take action to investigate and respond to any reports of bullying from / to a child or any member and encourage individuals to speak out about bullying behaviour

  • have the expectation to work together to stop bullying

  • encourage individuals to speak out about bullying behaviour

  • respect the feelings and views of others and show appreciation of others by acknowledging individual qualities, contributions and progress

  • report incidents of bullying behaviour.

  • promote and implement this anti-bullying policy in addition to our safeguarding policy and procedures

 

Supporting Children Within the Group

 

  • The Group has a designated Child Protection Officer whom, alongside other members, the children are able to approach to discuss any issues.

  • any reports of bullying will be investigated

 

General Points

 

  • All Member are expected to uphold the Groups anti-bullying Policy

  • All new members will be asked to sign a declaration to agree to this policy

  • As first port of call any member should approach the Child Protection Officer with any concerns of Bullying.In his/her absence, please approach the Groups Chaperone or Chair Person.

 

 

Lowdham Pantomime Group will:

  •  Provide a safe and stimulating environment for members.

  • Encourage all members to take responsibility for their actions (including the use of IT and mobile phones).

  • Celebrate every members successes and positive contribution.

  • Reprimand and seek to change any inappropriate behaviour.

  • Promote a supportive culture where members are recognised as individuals and bullying is not tolerated
